Julian   Supportive coach and enterprising strategist   Originally from Malaysia, Julian is a social movement leader focused on defending the rights of LGBT individuals, people living with HIV and immigrant communities. He has 15 years of experience in strategic planning, human resources, operations, finance, and marketing for organizations. As the NYC Pride March Director, Julian looks forward to leading another successful Pride March this June.  He envisions a world that celebrates diversity and makes everyone feel included. Julian also speaks English, Malay, Bahasa Indonesia, Tamil, some French and Spanish.

Niurka    Community activist and dedicated mother   After studying computer science, Niurka became a successful retail entrepreneur and media marketer in her home of Venezuela. Since arriving to the US she has become a grassroots community organizer for the Venezuelan diaspora and asylum seekers through her organization Venezuelans and Immigrants Aid -VIA. Her mission in life is to raise her son with the conviction to put his words into action as well as to be a model citizen, no matter which country life takes her to.  She loves the diversity and rush of New York City which reminds her of her native Caracas. She speaks Spanish and English.

George   Human rights activist and humanitarian healer   George has been a human rights activist since his time in university where he studied statistics, mathematics, and education. He left his home of Kenya to serve people displaced from war and humanitarian crises in South Sudan for many years. Since coming to New York, he has studied to help people overcome addiction and serves as an advocate for asylum seekers.   George dreams of a world where people will not be forced to flee from their homes and can develop their intrinsic talents wherever they land. He speaks English, Kiswahili and Luo.

David      Social Designer     After working as a graphic designer and visual communicator in Colombia, where he was born and raised, David moved to New York City in 2014 to get an MFA in Design for Social Innovation at School of Visual Arts. During his time in the city, he has collaborated with multiple organizations working on a wide range of social initiatives, including the UN Foundation, Priya's Shakti, and the Colombian Consulate in the NY area among others. He is currently coordinating the design process for Asylee Designs and works as a Senior Visual and Interaction Designer at the Global Health Department at Mount Sinai. His purpose is to continue to use design as a tool to enable and improve human interactions.     David fell in love with New York City because it is a human mosaic where creativity bursts. He speaks Spanish and English.
